In the Tyrolean Pitztal, which lies between Ötztal and Kaunertal in the Tyrolean Oberland, snow is guaranteed. Here on the roof of Tyrol, which with its Pitztal Glacier has the highest ski area in Austria (3440 m) and where the villages are up to 1700 meters high, winter holidaymakers will find high alpine challenges and enjoy snow-covered landscapes right down to the valley. Connected to the glacier is the Rifflsee ski area with its more demanding slopes.
The Hochweiser ski area is located a few kilometers further out of the valley in the municipality of Jerzens and is particularly popular as a family ski area with numerous overnight accommodations right on the edge of the slopes.
